Thanksgiving Eve

Thanksgiving eve, what a busy time at our house. Still, I needed to take a moment to reflect on what is really important. Our family, we are fortunate that our children live close so we get to spend time with them often. We are thankful that both sets of our parents are still with us and relatively healthy. We are thankful that our grandchildren are a big part of our lives. It has been said that Family is the foundation your life is built on, and our foundation is strong. We have so many reasons to be thankful this season. Count your blessings for there are many. Happy Thanksgiving!

As the snow flys!

Snow came a little early this year...it turns my thoughts to Christmas! Is it really only a few short weeks away?

We are calming down a bit at the store, most of the CHA~Summer items have arrived. A few late items are coming in but nothing like the big dump in August and September. Now we get to plan for the arrivals from Memory Trends than on to CHA2007 in Anaheim California!

Show time is always so exciting and so exhausting all in one! But that is one of the things that helps to keep us on top is have the newest items in stock as soon as possbile!

We have a lot of events planned over the next couple of months. This coming week-end is a Mom & Me cybor crop, it will be hosted by Jen Erickson. The following weekend is a benefit crop for a cancer patient. The silent auction already had many wonderful items!

November is our holiday card crop! That should be fun and just in time to get those greeting cards ready!

December is an altered paint can instructional crop, what a great gift an alter can makes!

So we have a few business months ahead at Scrap-A-Latte, we hope you stop in and join us for on or all of our events!

Where Will We Put it All!

The new products from CHA-Summer are rolling in. The suppliers are much quicker this year than last, it seems like we waited months. This year at 3 weeks from show, we have tons of new stuff! It is a very busy stime at the store, checking in the products, putting up stock and of course, we have to spend a moment or two drooling over the stuff! If we only had time to play with it all, sigh...

My DH and I are off to Hawaii in 18 days, I can hardly believe it. I have always wanted to go to Hawaii, he never has...but no Hawaii, no Alaska (that got his attention). We hope to have a week of relaxation and adventure!

The kids will be back in school soon and September at Scrap-A-Latte will be packed with special disocunts and special prices items...don't miss your opportunity to save on all the new items!

We are in the final count down to CHA~Chicago! Yep, 2 weeks and 4 days! This show is bigger and better than ever! We are all very excited to see what new products will be introduced at the show. It is always a great time to see our scrapbooking friends too!

We are gearing up for a BIG semi-annual Clearance Sale to make room for all the new stuff we will be buying at CHA. You don't want to miss our semi-annual sales events!

New Prima flowers are due in the store next week, they have caused quite a stir, we can't wait to get them in!

We will be celebrating our Nation's Independence in a few short days! Take a moment to remember what this day is about and please remember our troops on foreign shores that are helping to keep our great nation's independence.

God Bless America!

Summer, aaah!

The summer is zipping past so quickly this year, and CHA~Chicago is just around the corner. I am so excited that our Design Team will be attending this year with us, it will be such a fun weekend! A couple of the DT members are taking classes, so watch for new cybor training and techniques on our message board. We promise to scout out the entire show to bring in the newest, coolest products available. Scrap-A-Latte will preview the show each night, so you can see what will be arriving at the store!

I Love Sundays!

Sunday is my favorite day of the week! Sundays, I get to sit and enjoy the morning paper. Sundays are the most relaxing day of the week. On Sundays, we have a family dinner where I get to enjoy my children and grandchildren...yep, Sunday is my favorite day of the week.

I was up til the wee hours of the morning getting all of the new products in to the system. 7 Gypsies, Heidi Swapp and Queen & Company Colour Collection. Who could resist those adorable little make-up containers of embellishments?

We are preparing for the site transfer next week-end. That is exciting and scary at the same time. The new system will have some needed enhancements and will be tons faster, but I always worry something will go wrong and the store will be off line for too many days. I have my fingers crossed.

Happy Easter to everyone!

Spring, Spring is Here...

So Why is it stil 40 degrees? I am most eager for warmer weather this year! We need to play outside, plant some flowers, smell new mown grass. Where is spring?

We are still very busy at the store. More and more boxes keep arriving, and I sit by my computer and key products in to the store. I don't even have the time to sit and touch or admire the new items....whoa is me.

I am excited about the March of Dimes Walk America benfit we are hosting the entire month of April. What a great cause, stamp out birth defects, premature birth and infant deaths in our life time! Stop by the store and check out the special baby kits we have to the month of April. The kits are already marked at a 14% savings and we will donate $2.00 for every kit sold this month, to March of Dimes Walk America! Special Event Day is April 22nd, where we will donate 10% of the stores sales to March of Dimes!

I really need to get a life!

Has it really been 2 months since I blogged? Well time flies when all the new products are rolling in. I think my behind is glued to the chair and my fingers to the keyboard.

Scrap-A-Latte is growing and changing so fast, the pace is at times, exhausting! We are in the midst of our March Madness contest, an elimination contest, with 2 weeks to go. The talent shown has been amazing!

We have another action packed month coming up in April. Are cybercrop is the last weekend of the month and we are hosting a March of Dimes ~ WalkAmerica benefit.

I am so excited about the benefit as it is near and dear to my heart.
One of our Design Team Memebers is very involved with this organization as her beautiful daughter was born prematurely. I hope everyone stops buy in April to help support this great cause! There is no great success than our children!

Spring is on the way, I can feel it in my tired aching bones, LOL. I long to see the green grass and trees out my window.

Design Team Search

We are really seeing an increase in the entries for the Scrap-A-Latte design team. A lot of talent is posting in our gallery. It will be a tough decision on who will make the team. Maybe we will have a team of 60, because I can't decide.

CHA is coming fast, we are getting sneak peeks of all the new stuff coming out...I am is trouble, I will have to buy it all! So much to do to get ready. Laptop, check; ditigal camera, check; convention guide, check; plane ticket, check; car rental, check; suitcase, check; DH, che...hey where are you! He is not thrilled about the trip

Our first swap (Recipe Cards) went well, it was fun to "scrap" something other than pictures and know it will be in the hands of others. I look forward to the next round of recipe swaps.

We are back to winter after a nice reprieve. The western side of the state was hit with ice and snow last night. My DSS learn a valuable lesson about driving in winter weather. There is something about burying a car in the middle of a corn field that teaches you not to slam on the brakes on ice.

Hopefully after I spend a little time at the office today, I will get to express my creativity and scrapbook. I live to use all those products!

I really need to post more...

It is approaching CHA time in Vegas! We are looking forward to the break from the winter glooms. Plus, all the new and exciting things we will see at CHA! My DH is going to his first show this year, that will be an experience for both of us. But, he has to learn what goes on in this business so he can share the fun.

We are doing a recipe swap this month on the recipe board. I got mine done already! I am usually the biggest procrastinator ever...but not this time. It will be fun to see what everyone comes up with. I look forward to the next swap.

We have been very busy at the store, big annual clearance sale to make room for all the stuff I am going to order at CHA! The DH will freak when he sees how much I spend.
